Fylde Saddlery was started over 50 years ago by Jean and Peter Wilkinson and is now owned by their daughter Susan. The business has always been run from Hillcrest which is also the family home. The company has always specialised in saddlery for the showing world. Fylde is known worldwide as a supplier of the highest quality saddles, bits, and bridles. Most of the bridle work and saddles are designed by the Wilkinson family.
The Fylde Saddlery show unit can usually be seen at leading BSPS shows throughout the season in Lancashire, Cheshire, and Cumbria as well as the BSPS Championships. The family is known throughout the showing world as exhibitors of Show Ponies. Some of their successes can be seen on the Fylde ponies page.
Most of their ponies have been bought as novices and taken through to highly successful careers

Peter was in fact a star judge for show ponies and show hunter ponies.
His most famous accolade was the invention of the Wilkie snaffle and the magic bit.

Here at Fylde Saddlery, we have a wide range of equestrian products, and in this category, you will find our in-hand bridles and accessories. Products include 2-way and 3-way leather coupling, chains, rosettes, and whips, as well as in-hand bridles, brow bands, and filly slips.
Both our leather couplings are available in a choice of two colours. Chains are brass and come in a choice of three sizes, as well as a new market chain in either small or larger. Rosettes are also made of brass and you can select from a plain design, horse, thistle, feather, starburst, rose or Tudor Rose. There are two types of Welsh in-and whips, with one being plaited and available in either brown or black.
Our Hunter in-hand bridles are available in a range of different sizes and widths. We also have in-hand bridles which include a Jerome nose band. We supply a brass brow band in three different sizes, and a choice of two filly slips, which are also available in our standard colours of either black or Havana.
